Wuppertal was founded as a fusion of the communities of Barmen, Eberfeld, Vohwinkel, Langerfeld, Ronsdorf Cronenberg and Beyenburg in 1929 and named Barmen-Elberfeld, in 1930 it was renamed to Wuppertal.
